Jambo Wasafiri! Hello Travelers!
We are Lis Montserrat Font and Germán Martínez Pacheco, directors of Gong Rock Safaris.
After more than 20 years living in Africa in countries such as Burundi, Congo, Rwanda, Kenya… Tanzania is now our home port on the continent.
Due to its geographical location and political and social stability, Tanzania allows us to show our friends and travelers the African continent in a different way.
Mount Kilimanjaro, the privileged setting of Ernest Hemingway‘s famous novel The Snows of Kilimanjaro, welcomes us to the country.
If there’s one thing that has made Tanzania world-famous, it’s its national parks, over 300,000 km² of protected natural areas that make Tanzania the country with the largest number of wild animals living in their natural habitat.
The Serengeti and Ngorongoro are paradises of wildlife, interconnected with each other and with the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Together, they form the stage for the epic annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeests and other herbivores, closely followed by their natural predators: lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and jackals. The sight of this immense mass of animals on the savanna is truly worth a visit.
Our years living in Tanzania allow us to introduce you to this society blessed by Mungu (God in Swahili). We will tell you about the great kingdoms of the country before and after colonization, the Hehes of the ancient Iringa kingdom, the Gogos of Dodoma (the political capital of the country), the Sukumas of Lake Victoria, the Chaggas of the Kilimanjaro region, and up to 120 ethnic groups.
Tanzania is a presidential democracy led by a woman, a Muslim born on the island of Zanzibar (Unguja in Swahili), Samia Hassan Suluhu, affectionately called Mama Samia. She welcomes you!
