During <strong>January and February<\/strong>, over <strong>8,000 calves are born each day<\/strong>. Within minutes they stand, and within an hour, they can run\u2014 their only defense against predators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The endless <strong>volcanic grasslands<\/strong>, granite rock formations known as <strong>Kopjes<\/strong>, <strong>acacia forests and date palm groves<\/strong>, and mighty rivers like the <strong>Grumeti<\/strong> and <strong>Mara<\/strong> are some of the ecosystems that the <strong>Great Migration of over 1 million wildebeests and zebras<\/strong> must navigate to reach the grazing lands of the neighboring <strong>Maasai Mara<\/strong> in Kenya. This paradise for ungulates is also a vital hunting ground for predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as scavengers such as hyenas and vultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Listening to the sounds of the savanna at dusk around the fire in <strong>our unique, low-impact camp<\/strong>, possibly the most environmentally friendly in the entire park, is an unforgettable experience.
